After all day on the bike yesterday my arse has disowned me.

Anyone use one, and do they make much difference?

G has one for his KTM, and he does think it is good IIRC. He'll be back from Glasto soon so I expect he'l reply to the thread.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I don't have one for the bike, but had one in the past for the car, if that counts...
Could sometimes get very warm in urban traffic (prob not so much of an issue on the bike), but very comfortable on longer journeys IMO

I have one for my Varadero. Only started using it but did a 316 mile trip up to Scotland in 4 hours with only two 7min fuel stops, then did a full days riding, another 200 odd miles. Comfort beyond my hopes. No pains at all.

Have used a sheeps skin on both my trips to russia, make a very big diffrence to the feel of the seat make sure you get a real one not a nylon sheep style rug, make sure you carry a plastic bag for it as being wet for days on end will rot it.

I probably need help though, professional help.

Did you hear. Recent discoveries have found that the Welsh invented the condom by using a sheeps bladder. It was 200 Years later that the English took it out of the sheep!

Me and a mate rode to Casablanca in 2006 and he had heard about this sheepskin thing thro various adventure websites, he got himself one and he reckoned that it made no difference to the "the arse has had enough" time, when riding long distances on his '87 VFR750. I was riding an '85 FJ1100 and was marginally better for comfort. I only say this because i'm usually the first one to need a leg stretch, the consequences of a big high side exiting Gerrards breaking my pelvis amongst other stuff about 18 months previously.

Isn't this a better subject for the welsh section? Are are you worried you'll spark them off on how it feels to ride a sheep again?

I used one for the first time this year. It doubled the length of time I could spend on the bike. Underwear also plays a part in seat comfort. I used to always wear cotton boxers and things used to ache after a while, I now wear jersey boxers and things are a lot better.
