Hi all,
I'm getting bogged down in trying to find good new tyres for my ZX6R, with all the information both on this site and all the others!!

So ... ... being a bit of a sucker for things that are a little different I've been reading about the Angel ST tyres from pirelli.

I was wondering if anyone has any 'real world' experience of these?

My riding is going to be a mix of commuting (about 70%) and fun blasts, so I want a tyre that lasts and gives some fun too.

Any feedback?

cheers

John

If your Ninja is older than 2006, it will be a 120/65 profile on the front which limits your choice as most recent tyres only come in 120/70 size Neutral

Basically, Mick at Essential Rubber in North London said

"All sports touring tyres these days are as good as sports tyres 5 years ago. There's very little between them so pick the one you like the look of!"

the 3 top dog ones he recommended were

Arrow Bridgestone BT023
Arrow Dunlop Roadsmart
Arrow Micheline PR2's

All pretty similar with the same feedback from customers. Don's had roadsmarts and PR2s whilst I've had roadsmarts on my 6R. Use roadsmarts on the blade too purely because I want mileage with my feedback. All the three mentioned have dual compound rears.

A friend has the angel ones on his busa and swears by them, where as I have the bt023 on my rear (front didnt need changed) and I am finding it fine. Theres plenty of grip in the dry and enough in the wet that I have gained more confidence in my bike since fitting it.

You discovered essential rubber then titz?, good chaps, people look at me funny when i yabber on about how good they are... colin is sound.

They are moving to Bow sometime this year.

Also incidentally, while i think PR2's are slightly better than roadsmarts, roadsmarts seemed less affected by a couple of PSI off correct than pr2's
