Pretty sure the KMX is teh same arrangement and even the same lock-barel as the AR I had, on which THIS was a very common problem! (Got nicked four times i two years, & GAWD knows how many other 'atempts!, but was in Cov at time of Bell green riots!)

ANYWAY. There are two parts, one is the ignition barel, other is the frame.

Theres a pin comes out the bottom of the ignition parel, and it bolts against a bracket on the head-stock to lock the steering.

When they attach the lock, normally knackers the leaves inside, making it pretty useless, but they try cracking the steering lock first, and that first bends the pin in the bottom of teh steering lock, then the bracket on the head-stock.

If its not too bad you may get away without replacing the ignition barel, but if it does need swapping, its an easy one, as I recall two M6 screws, and they aren't anti-tamper ones with special heads, think they are plain cross-heads or maybe allen keys!

Bracket on the head-stock is more awkward. May be lucky and it could just be bent. Will bend down, off the end of the pin if your lucky, and you can just bend it back up again. Else it may be dinges, or even broken off the weld, in which case, you may have to get some-one to grind it off and braze on a new bit of shaped metal, or re-shape & braze whats there.

No GREAT hassle, but does need looking at, last thing you want is bent pin dropping out of buggered ignition lock and snagging teh steering while you ride!

Whether you make it 'as new' or not, up to you.

Think that they have proved how effective it is!

Probably more helpful even if you fi it to NOT use it and rely on teh chain & Disc-lock!
