2007 Hyosung GV650. On test drive it ran last week perfectly, albeit needed a new battery. Installed new battery today and bike will not start...not turn over...pushing starter button produces no sound, no click even. All lights work, kickstand switch OK, gas full, started by "bump" starting but engine only "popped and cracked" and then died after 30 seconds...no more bump starting worked. No activity since th good test riding day and failure to start today.

I am looking to buy this bike but it needs to run of course. Thougt about a fuse, but can't locate fuse box. (no manual) Car Dealer owner hasn't a clue. I have been riding almost every make and model for the past 50+ years, but this has me stumped. My bike shop mechanic just shakes his head and hasn't a solution. No dealers in my area, only independents who don't want to work on Korean bikes. Help...

I agree with your advice, but still would like to know the why and how, for my own education.

Amen to that. Stick to jap bike if you want anything that lasts.

My mechanic has a showcase of chinese bikes, all rusted and mashed up. And he likes to play a game with people considering chinese bikes - makes them guess the year. You'd think these things were about 20 years old, but in reality, each and every one of them is an 08 model.

Not worth shit. Stick to whats been proven

I agree on Chinese Bikes, heard too many horror stories. However, the South Korean automobile/motorcycle/scooter industry is now producing some of the world's best quality machines. Not sure just why India and China are not up to snuff. Again, I have decided on another Honda or Yamaha for now. My current cruiser is a 1981 Honda, and it is still great. Me now, at 75, I'm not in so great shape as the bikes. Very Happy

you know that hyosung is not chinese right? They are Korean.
They do also make some fairly high quality stuff. their gt 650 is meant to rival suzuki's sv650. never riden either but seen both and the hyo certainly doesn't rust away

Op, did you charge the battery before you installed it, was there acid in the battery prior to installation as some new batteries are dry when bought?
