Hi everyone iam new on here and need some help ive read some things on here about these chinese bikes and problems people have had but so far havent seen anyone that has sorted the problem that ive got ?

Ive just got a himo gy125 like a cg 125 but a trails bike.
it was all working fine but then the battery went flat so i put it on charge, but while the battery was off the bike i started the bike up and it run ok. But when i put the battery back on the bike it wouldnt start so i checked the plug and there was no spark, Ive tryed checking the normal things like the plug but its dead, Ive been told that starting it up with out the battery would have blown my electrics ??? is this true and if so what would it have blown ? the bike has a cdi ive tryed checking this but cannot get any power out of the wires leading 2 it when turning the engine over so now i dont no what 2 do there is about 2volts coming up from the flywheel but thats about all from some of the wires but i think the wires are for the lights but not shaw but they do lead 2 the rectifirer any help i would be very greatfull

Have you tried another battery in the bike and are you sure your battery isnt scrap?If your bike is starting then its got nothing to do with your cdi box as it is self generating from the engine, if anything its your battery and charging system thats at fault.

hello mate ive checked the battery and it has 12volts init but the bike doesnt start no more, since i started it without the battery on the bike, so i thought it must of blown something ive tryed the fuse etc

I'm confused how you got it to start with no battery?

Did you just kick it over? Presumably you didn't get it to actually start.

Have you got the battery connected the right way round? Do your lights work?

Hello again ive alllready checked all the wires from the magneto to the cdi and to the rectifirer and i can only get 2volts to show on my meter on 5 of the wires that are going 2 the rectifirer. There is 5wires that go to the cdi and 6 that go to the rectifirer. But when the bike is kicked over there is no power that goes to the cdi but i can get 2volts that go towrds the rectifirer but thats all

In reply 2 the other quection yes the bike did start with no battery but wont now,Now ive put the battery back on the bike my lights work and everthing else but it just wont start because ive got no spark at plug now

You seem to be confusing your rectifier /regulator with your cdi, they are seperate units, your cdi only deals with your ignition and the reg/rec deals with the charging of the battery and nothing more, you should have 3 wires comming from your alternator which go to the reg/rec unit only one of these wires will give you a dc output of 12-14 volts to charge your battery. There may be other wires in the same loom but these are only trigger wires for your cdi and probably a wire for your neutral light, the alternator wires are generally the same colour and normally have a different insulation, you need to find the 3 wires comming from your alternator to do any sort of test.

thanks mate for your help i will have another go tomorrow but iam shaw that there was no power coming from any of the wires but i mite have miss one. The last time i checked it i couldnt find 12volts on the bike apart from the live wire from the battery. but i will say iam not good with wires and stuff lol

Well good news i fixed it yipee
a friend of my brothers has got the same bike and said i could try some of his bits to see what was gone on mine.
Nice of him lol
and the first thing i tryed was the CDI and it started sparking again, so ive got 1 on order happydays and thanks again
