do you need mirrors for an MOT?

I've got the left mirror (when you're sat on the bike)

should i stick that on for MOT? do I need both? or 0 at all?

You don't need mirrors for the MOT.

Sorry to introduce some confusion to the topic, but whilst I can't find any reference at all to mirrors in the section about motorcycles in the manual, according to the section about tricycles in that manual I quote as follows:

"Obligatory Mirrors

Bodied vehicles must have two mirrors, one of which must be fitted to the offside.
unbodied vehicles other tan mopeds must have one offside and one nearside mirror.
unbodied vehicles classed as mopeds must have one mirror. If first used on or after 1 August 1978 it must be fitted to the offside."

My question is, are solo motorcycles classed as unbodied vehicles for the purposes of the MOT ? It is the mention of mopeds above that makes me uncertain.

NO MIRRORS NEEDED!!!

However as one has said if you fit one mirror, and other is missing but the mounting point is there, then it will fail as one is missing.

Again if the mirror is broken (either of them) then that will fail its MoT.

So if you have one good mirror and one broken mirror, then replace the mirror or take em both off Thumbs Up

Confused Could have sworn that if there was the fitting for a mirror then there had to be one in it, or if it came with them as standard it had to have them fitted or something along those lines.
