far from perfect, but enough to get mobile again, i went out today, and purchased....a bike Smile

insured as well, and actually 100% legal, although doc said im not allowed to fall off for at least 3 weeks..bummer

was genuinely very shaky at first, those first 20 mins trying to find my feet again, and get out of london at the same time, were very uncomfortable

i broke down on a hill in a traffic jam, when i got bored and flicked the kill switch, i then pushed it to a petrol station before realising, thankfully only 500m or so but still Rolling Eyes oops Embarassed

and as its not gonna stir any tears or stun anyone by its good looks, no point keeping it a secret i guess

https://www.wemoto.com/library/honda-nt400k-bros-1990/honda-nt400k-mkI-bros-1990.html

pretty much identical to that, 1992, with 12500km's on the clocksamd despite what it looks like, its a really nice bike to ride, makes all national speed limits easily, and stops...exactly what im looking for at the moment while i build some confidence, its not mint by any stretch, but the engine is sound Smile

and you cant argue with 900 quid including a tank of fuel! so happy to be back mobile and riding again, and realise how lucky i am to actually be able to Smile

I considered one of those when I was buying, but I just couldn't live with having to tell people I rode a BROS. Too many lingering 80's nightmares for me.

Hi

Meant to be not bad little bikes. How similar are they to the US market Hawk, which looks like the same bike but with a 650 engine? If they are similar then I think there are loads of bits that will fit.

Just don't buy the UK version, the Revere, unless you want a boring commuter!

All the best

Keith

And please keep it away from my rear end! Unlike my first trip to stockly when the nutter on his BROS, went right up me! Shocked

In the words of the great Ogri " Better an old nail than no bike at all". Not that I'm calling your bike an old nail you understand, just, who cares what it looks like as long as you can ride it! Oh, and just for the record I actually like the Bros too. Nice that you are back on two wheels dude. Mr. Green

Bros's are coool.
A mate of mine had a 400 one, and they are very good bikes. Kickstart is correct the 650 Bros and the Hawk are one and the same. The 400cc version is just a sleeved down version AFAIK. The 800cc Pacific Coast and the 750cc Africa Twin engines both fit. Very Happy
I've seen a 400 Bros based special that has an africa twin engine in it, an RGV250 front end, RGV250 bodywork and twin outlet pipes in an Aprilia RS250 Sty-lee. I can remember the exact article. I'll dig it out for you if you like.

Either way Bros's handle well, are light and narrow, look cool and won't break the bank. The ideal confidence builder! Plus single sided swing arms look cool and its dead easy to adjust the chain. Smile

A thoroughly good choice Goose! Smile

You have to let old Zimma have a go on that, I really want one of those for commuting to and from work, I'd love to see what they go like. Smile

Nice choice mate. Ride safe! Smile

Good to see you back on the road Goose. The Bros ain't all bad, its a honda, shame its not a red honda eh? Wink
As far as commuter type bikes go the Bros is probably styled better than most others, I kinda like it. (It must be the single sided swingarm Cool )
