|
Got a bit of spare cash at the minute and was thinking of:
Gold Renthal bars - just normal ones, fat bars are far too expensive with the converter thing unless I'm mistaken
Tail Tidy - costs about £70 which is a total rip off but it makes a big difference
Smaller indicators - stock ones are massive
New rear fender? The stock one is pretty boring-looking. Was also going to look into raising the ride height.
Any suggestions? ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Got one for £68 in the end Might seem daft, but they barely lose value when you sell them anyway, I've seen a couple sell for £50 - £60 second hand.
Also got some crash bobbins, fatbars + risers, and a smaller license plate. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

I swear a saw a white DRZ with a more "aggressive" looking one once, oh well.
I kinda agree, apparently if I changed the height I'd have to get a new longer side stand from an E model anyway Not worth the trouble, in other words.
Will just stick to the simple stuff, after all I need this bike to be a good all-rounder, not just for days off, needs to get me to Uni/work and back etc. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Bobbins I'll accept - are the stock bars really that poor that they need replacing?
Only time I had a problem with stock bars was on my DR600 when I crashed on the road and it bent them - kicked it back a bit and it was fine to ride home on. Not sure it's really worth replacing them before crashing, though .
Oh and yes, I was googling for a picture of that 'mud spray' Ste, but couldn't find a decent one . |

We shall see soon enough!
Know any decent grips while I'm at it? No denying the stock DRZ ones are a bit crap, they're plasticy and a uncomfortable.
BTW all this stuff would be coming off when I sell the DRZ some day, I learnt the hard way with the DTR that stock parts don't sell very well. Still got the exhaust and handlebars in the attic... ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Can't be arsed to put it back together, tired from work today etc. Gonna need some new hand guards too, the old ones don't want to work with the new fatbars. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Don't get a DRZ if you want a fast SM My brothers friend came around with his KTM 450 EXE supermoto today and it just shows the DRZ up, saying that it is quite a bit (aka a lot ) more powerful. Don't think I'm good enough mechanically to own a bike like that just yet, couldn't cope with the constant servicing. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |
