Just gone out to the bike (in the pissing rain, naturally) and there's a fuck-off great screw sticking out of the back tyre. Now I get to sit in the office and wait for over an hour for the AA to get to me and attempt to plug the tyre.

Ah, well, could be worse. Was going to change both before the MOT at the end of next month. Anyone know of any decent mobile fitters in London?

What do you mean by "mobile fitters"? They come to your place like a doctor?

https://www.motorcycleservicecentre.co.uk/ is very good.
essential rubbers is ok. (he forgot to tighten one of the exhaust bolts for instance)

I'm such a lucky boy sometimes.

The knowledgeable and helpful (for the first time ever!) AA man arrived within 45 minutes, removed a 4-inch screw from the rear tyre, and plugged the hole. I was on the move again within 20 minutes of him arriving.
Thankfully, it happened to an old tyre. Not sure I'd be too happy running around for months knowing the tyre had been plugged to keep it alive. So it'll be off to Essential or to FWR over the weekend to see who's got the best deals at the moment.

Choices, choices. CBR600F4i - BT023s, Pilot Road 2s or Pilot Powers? That's the kind of shopping that I can get with on a Saturday... Smile

Dunlop Roadsmarts if you want WET grip and feedback. I got my rear tyre plugged at essential for 20 quid by mick. He told me that all the sports touring rubber were as good as each other, but my vote is on the Roadsmarts - ridden in ALL weathers (including snow) on 100+ mile trips. I've had them on my ZX6R and it's my tyre of choice for my fireblade since it's a good compromise and has excellent feedback in bad weather and the cold.

Yes for the roadsmarts, has a set fitted to zzr few weeks ago and going by the wear over last 3000 miles i should get about 8000 miles out of them and feel really good wet or dry

No for FWR, miserable bad attitude but good prices Confused
