I left my (reasonably new) KLE500 on the street with the keys in the top-box on several occasions - once for a whole weekend.
On each occasion I didn't know whether to be relieved or ashamed to find it still there when I realised my mistake! ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper

I dont think that thieving scroats are always that discriminating!
I dont think that there REALLY is something 'less-nickable'.
Bottom line is, if it ent bolted down and they THINK they can get away with it, they'll probably have a go, whatever it is!
Yes, learner-bikes & commuters, are a pretty good candidate for the younger oiks, looking for something to raz about the fields; things like ZX6's or fire-blades, candidates for the more poffessional, looking for something easily broken and sold as spares.
But, the snowtigeress, who'se had more bikes nicked than seems pheasible, would throw up a few curiocities to chuck pre-conceptions to the winds!
Last bike she had nicked was a Chinese Import 125 'Cruiser' thing.
Did 55 flat out, and weighed more than a moto-guzzi, with high wide bars, low seat and clerance, it was NOT something I would take for razing about the park, or trying to out-run the law round the council estate! Hardly small or light for a ten year-old either!
and what 'pro' would deem it worth the risk to nick a chinese bike, worth less than £400, that would hardly be worth its parts broken, and damnably difficult to 'ring'!?!
In a similar vein, she had a CD200 Benley got twokked, and a Whirlitzer-Maggot; a CX500 Silver-wing, complete with wind-jammer fairing........ found burned out on the local rec, by chavs!
So none of them fit the mould for a chav-twokkers preffered target, nor a pro's idea of a proffitable evenings work.
Only conclusin is, Twokers know effall about bikes and simply nick whatever they can!
Ergo..... DONT leave a bike 'minimally protected' no matter HOW 'unatractive' you think it might seem to them!
I think that the only thing that MIGHT detur SOME twokkers is something like a bobbed Harley with a chrome tank and 'OUTLAW MCC' stencilled on the tank....... along with crossed pistons
That said, I have met a renowned and aledgedly PRO twokker who TRIED nicking such a motorcycle, parked OUTSIDE a house in a rough part of town with lots of old bike bits in the front garden and a flag in the window saying 'OUTLAWS MCC above crossed pistons' in the window........
after a short stretch in intensive care.......
Asked "WHY?!?!?!?!?!?"
He said, "Well, there waz no chain'n'it, wus thu!"
I DID ask if the 'Outlaw' emblem and crossed pistons meant anything to him..... "Yeah! Iz wun o'dem Hells angel Gangs innit!"
So, I THINK we can conclude, that people wot nick bikes dont necesserily have very high IQ's or reasoning skills! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

Pan euro?
Would need 6 blokes to lift it into a van, totally useless ragger for off road, not used for jewelery robberies as too big, not hugely valuable for parts. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Something old, not dirt bike biased and rare which nobody'd want anyway, like ex courier bikes with enormous miles on them. I'd agree with the big tourer thing. I'm thinking goldwing or something along those lines.
Not that there is anything REALLY less nickable, coz as the theme tends to have been on this thread... they'll nick 'owt. but if i were leaving something i'd leave a goldwing ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -
