Don't know how, but it's got a big crack across half the screen. It's not affecting the way it works, but it's bloody annoying! Worst part about it, is I only registered it with the insurance yesterday, but I have to wait 21 days before I can do anything about it. I guess I'll have to be carefully since it's my only way to access the Internet!

That'll be good advise, IF I kept it there. It's kept in my front left pocket, normally with nothing else bu I can only assume I've put something in there without thinking about it. Or I guess it could have been when the ninja attacked me in the dark alley earlier. Good thin I beat the crap out of him!

iPhone's constantly have broken screens (screen covers really), and though I hate them I should point out that it is possible to replace the screen yourself.
Even though I told him numerous times to stop talking, a friend of mine walked me through how he replaced his inevitable broken screen on iPhone 3G or 3GS or whatever 6 month minor upgrade model he had.
You'll need a set of teency hex keys I think though to take off the first apple brand deterent of would-be self fixers (honestly the gall of some people fixing things on the cheap) then a different hex key for the next deterent. Then remove screen from fasteners and affix new one with hex keys, glue and an apology note to Steve Jobs.

Alternatively, wait the 21 days since this method no doubt sends a distress signal to Apple HQ voiding your warranty and putting you on the "to watch" list.
