Soon after my wife and I were married, she mentioned how she really wished that she could afford a riding lawnmower. She was a gal that worked all day and was often tired in the evening when she got home from work.
So, being the handy sort of guy that I was, I made her a riding lawnmower. I'm the kind of a fellow that is sensitive to my wife's needs.

I guess I thought she would squeal with delight and give me a big hug.

you horrible, tight fisted, chauvinistic (sp?) toss pot...

making the poor girl pedal after a hard days work, what you should have done is to make her a proper one, one she can sit on and relax... then you should have looked at sonds "turboing" thread and made it quicker (although actually finished building it, unlike sond) then she could be done in half the time and been back in the kitchen, where she belongs, to make your tea and bring you a nice cold beer....

this below, is my vision :

Your lot are awful. You could have at least made a reclining seat so she isn't so tired and in pain after mowing the lawn for cooking and cleaning duties. Remember she enjoys these things so make sure she is up for it by making her one of these.

Also

I dare someone to buy their missus an industrial concrete vibrator.

I only got the bike because she was out there last year cutting the grass with scissors. The neighbour looked over the fence and said "Is your man making you cut that grass with scissors, he should be bloody well hung."

To which the mrs said with a giggle "he is!"

I just can't get over the "requirement" for goggles. Best laugh of the day.

Stray blades of grass can be vicious! Goggles are needed when cutting grass. Just because you have never been stabbed in the eye by a blade of grass doesnt mean it wont happen! They dont call them blades for nothing!
