Hi all.

My 03 plate NSR125 has a very strange electrical problem.

* My indicators work fine when I am at a standstill
* My indicators work if I am at a standstill and rev the bike
* My indicators won't work if I am moving
* My indicators do work if I am moving and have my head lights on (not just sidelights)
* My indicators will work when I brake even if my headlights are off (the indicators won't come on until I brake, I am presuming because of the brake light)

I haven't had the bike long and haven't noticed up until now because I have always ridden with my headlights on. I only noticed when I rode without my headlights because they flicker slightly when the indicators are on, this may be related?

I stripped the bike yesterday and cleaned all the earths, connectors and checked the wiring etc. It doesn't have the original indicators, it has little pointy lenses with H21 bulbs in them, 21W 12V?

Any ideas?

Check the battery voltage,
I found that when my regulator went that the electrics did some really strange things (really confusing as the reg let out 13v <2,000rpm and nothing >2,000rpm haha).

But yeah, also will they work in gear but not moving? Maybe the side stand switch is interfering somewhere?

Strange one though...

I have put a new battery on it, but I haven't tested the regulator yet. Yes, they do work if I am in gear but still, they seem to go off when I reach 10mph but if I have my headlights or brakes on they work fine.

I understand the original indicator bulbs were 10W? My problems wouldn't be caused by the fact the indicators have been swapped for some 21W ones would they?

Well quite possibly seeing as they're drawing a lot more wattage? Thinking

I have tried with just one indicator bulb in one side and the headlights don't dim hardly any. Don't know about my other problem though.

Well you need to get the right wattage bulbs first to cross it off the list.
