This is my friend's bike.

He blew the head gasket, had it replaced, now it's overheating and leaking coolant from somewhere

When the HG was replaced did they skim the head? If it warped when it blew then it will need to be skimmed.

He said that the guy he took it to, to be repaired "checked it" and I asked how did he check it "with a straight edge and feeler gauges".

but the guy didn't change the head bolts.. Rolling Eyes

starting to sound like a head gasket job

Find out roughly where the coolant is leaking from, no doubt the head gasket, then take it back to the bloke who did it and tell him to fix it again, properly.

take it back to the person who didn't do it properly in the first place? It was his 'friend' and not a garage, I'd be able to fit a new gasket, new bolts and take the head to a place near here 'service engineering' to get it skimmed. Yeah, I think it will be from the head, I'm gonna get it to leak with the fairings off and have a good look around. Cheers!
