Should the colour of your leathers and helmet match the colour of your bike? What do people think? Is it ok for some colours for example you see a lot of red and blue mixed. Should leathers match but helmet doesn't matter or does it not matter at all. Technically I'm aware that it doesn't actually matter as such but what looks better?

I voted that leathers are leathers and they dont need to match. Thumbs Up

But I own a blue XT600 and a black bandit.

I have these leathers, you decide if the match Wink

As it happens my bike matches leathers but bought them before had bike so more coincidene than anything else, it's being on a bike that matters, not colour co-ordinating

Mine only matches by chance. I bought my blue and black jacket when I had a black bike, then I had a red one, now I happen to ride two blue ones. Same story with the boots.

Got blue and black trousers because they were cheaper than the camo ones.

Currently ride with a black helmet but have a fluorescent orange one on order so that won't match anything Laughing

Last three bikes have been black, only ever had black leathers/textiles and helmets.

I have a set of black, white and silver leathers, black gloves and a pair of black and red boots. Gonna be buying a new helmet soon, had my current one for too long.

I'm looking into buying a black and red XR 125, so my stuff won't all match Razz

My textiles are white and black, leathers are black and helmet is red with unicorns on it. I have a bright orange and purple bike and a yellow and black bike.

Any colour coordination is purely accidental! So no, gear doesn't have to match bike for me.

I try to buy gear in 1-2 colours only. Main colour black, but can be with white bits. I can be a bit more flexible with helmet but not excessively and black and white would be still main colours.

Ok it's a bit boring.. but it fits any bike pretty much.

ALL BLACK would be my poll option.

I've never purposely bought kit to match the bike, but it's just by coincidence that my current kit is black and blue, and so is the bike... although I have a grey/silver lid that doesn't match anything.

My previous combination was black and red kit, with a yellow/orange flame design helmet, but with a black bike.

[edit] Just to add, boots and gloves have always been plain black

You shouldn't match, but you shouldn't clash either.

Black goes with everything.

I would go for the all black option.
They had no black helmets left when i bought one a few weeks ago so i had to settle for the yellow one to match my bike Razz
It was either that or an orange one.

When racing I did try to - as I was occasionally trying to get sponsors and you are trying to present an 'image'.

Other times, it makes me feel bad if I notice my clothing matches the bike I'm riding - I don't like to give the impression that the image is more important to me than the riding.

Of course, whether the act of worrying about it (it hasn't stopped me, at least) is just as bad tartiness as worrying about leathers not matching is another matter Smile.

Depends how long you're gonna be keeping the bike really.

My opinion is as long as its a similar colour (Red Orange Yellow, Blue Green Purple etc), or black/white/grey then its fine.
