Well after being away from the track and saving money up for a while I have a few options for next years riding.

Would It be better for me to....

A. Sell the trackbike and most bits and use the money I have saved to get a newer bike? something like an 02/03 600.

B. Keep my current trackbike and buy a few extra mods for it? I already have good rubber, rearsets. But could go as far as getting brembo radial master cylinder (my mate swears by this) , radial forks? ohlins rear shock? dyno jetted? quickshifter etc.

opinions welcome!!

Depends what you enjoy most. I enjoy trackdays way more than riding on the road so have a nice track bike and a pretty crap road bike.

i think you might be a little confused. It would be a newer trackbike or keep the same trackbike and tinker with a few mods.

hope that clears it up Thumbs Up

Ahh, only you can make the decision then.

I had a cheapo old CBR track bike. I could have made it handle and go by todays standards, but it was better financially to just get a newer better bike.

If you're going to get the same amount of smiles on both bikes I'd go for the cheapest. If they'll both end up costing the same I'd go for the one that gives more smiles. Also take into account how much you'd cry if you dropped it Very Happy

C) keep your current bike, don't buy tarty bits, get the suspension setup for you and spend the rest of the money on track time.

a brembo MC is definately an investment, i dont care what anyone else says, i bought one about 6 years ago and used it on over 4 bikes as they are interchangable just be careful you dont get a cheap chinese copie and yes they are very good.

depending on your budget you can a well sorted bike for 2-3k and buy a package like a PI600 with spare wheels, fully sorted chassis.

dont bother with tuning if you wanna go faster just concentrate on tyres and suspension with as much track time as you can get.
