I need some advice. I bought an nsr 125 :D (cool bike) but i didn't get a toolkit with the bike. Should I go and buy a toolkit or should I make my own.

If I have to make my own what should it have????

The Honda toolkit isn't particularly brilliant so you're not missing out on much. But if you want a kit to keep in the back of the bike for emergencies I suggest this:

  • An adjustable spanner - the small size
  • A set of allen keys
  • A small screwdriver with changable heads
  • A spark plug remover
  • A spare spark plug
  • A spare indicator bulb
  • A tubeless tyre repair kit
  • A very small (100ml or so) bottle of two stroke

Might sound a bit much, but it should easily fit under the seat and might save you a lot of bother. For example I always carry a puncture kit in my bike and a week ago Zimma got a rivet in his tyre - if I hadn't have had the kit it would have meant calling out the AA, or even more hassle trying to find a local place to get it fixed (at 2am in central london).

I usually get rid of the standard tool kits. I carry a leather man in my car puncture repair kit. Small disposable camera (in case of crash for evidence). And the other stuff which korn suggests is all extremely useful.

If you don't want to bother about repairing punctures you can inject your tyres with that green slime stuff. It seals the hole faster then a heroine addict in a pharmacy.

Luckily, I got the orignal tool kit with my bike when I bought (unusual considering it's 10 years old!) but ther's not a lot in it. Better to supplement it with everything Kornel has suggested. You'll fit it all under your seat easily.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
