Reverse drill bit known as an 'easy out'. The drill bites into the metal turning it undone.

Cheapo option: cut a slot in it with a hack saw and undo with a screw driver.

Last resort: get a drill bit the width of the head and bit by bit drill the head off. Remove what it was holding on to reveal a bit of the thread that will then easily come undone as there will be no pressure on the threads caused by the head pressing on something.

If it is into plastic then be VERY careful using a drill on it, the heat generated by the drill bit will melt the plastic within a few seconds.

Watch what you're doing if you're contemplating using 'Easyouts', the buggers are as hard as Hell and if you snap one (very easy) you'll be in even deeper poo than you are now. The only place for those things is in the bin !.

Sounds like the problem i had after fitting new bars. I placed some electrical tape under the housing which stopped the movement. But then again i still had use of the bolts so could tighten it up. If you don't then you could use some cable ties along with the tape until you get something permanent?

Couple of wraps of tape will take care of it.

I can't believe that one person is so inept at anything that involves a spanner or a bolt.
Most of the " How do you....... ? " posts are just very basic common sense, or get off your fat arse and work it out yourself.

Next I expect will be, " How do I adjust my mirrors?" or " Can I put both feet down when I stop at the traffic lights?" Followed by " I'm a God at riding a bike and this fucker cut me up and knocked me off" Rolling Eyes

Old Thread Alert!
