What is it with people?

Today went over to Dartmouth and was just relaxing with the gf on her car on a large empty car park.

Both on our lunchbreak, was hot and sunny with car roof down.

Now this old git in his massive volvo 2 yapping dogs and a car full of people pull in, windows down, really loud and just sit there.

Right up next to our parked car at the far end of the car park and park sooo close it woukd have been a squeeze for me to get out of the car door.

I mean come on. You have the whole car park with just us and 4 other cars and and yet you park there!?

We moved and he got out of the car and came over to the window asking if we had a problem.. Shocked
Other people find this ? Just don't get it.
Grr

They might have been German. I holidayed on the Norfolk Broads years ago, and one evening we pulled off the main stretch into this quiet area. Huge broad all to ourselves, so we moored in the middle and cracked the wine open, sitting on the roof watching the sun go down. It was so still and peaceful - a leaf took about an hour to float past the boat.

Then another boat came into the broad, aimed right at us and moored about 10 feet away. It was two German couples, loud as fuck. We up anchored and moved to the edge of the pond, but could still hear them all night. I should have swam over during the night, cut their mudweight and pushed them back into the main drag whilst they slept. Wankers.

Totally agree. I used to eat lunch in my car during my field engineering days, if I was going to park up, it would be as far away as possible from anyone else.

The thing is, you get a particular type of person, they're outgoing, gregarious and dare I say it 'bubbly'. The thing is, they are so busy being happy and care free that they forget to pull their head out of their own arse and appreciate that not everyone is like them. I'm not that keen on people I don't know but I fucking hate those who are so helplessly optimistic and cheerfull they fail to realise you might not share that sentiment.

I'd be interested to know what you said to the guy and his reaction? It confuses me that some people become offended at the actions of complete strangers, especially when they fail to realise that it was merely a reaction to their behaviour in the first place.

Thumbs Up

It's the same in quiet/empty restaurants. You sit down far away from everyone else then someone other people come and sit right next to you. Crazy fools. (Obviously this is in restaurants where you pick your own seat, not told where to sit.)

It's those people who are not secure enough in themselves so they have to be around others.

I see it at work all the time, you are sat in the canteen type area and people walk in and look for someone (anyone) to sit with.

I hate that, I just want to read my book and eat my lunch and some uninteresting no-mates sits down and you have no choice but to feign interest in the uninteresting.

Its pet hate of mine actually, its like people who become offended because you don't reply to a text or answer the phone, surely that is my perogative; especially since they haven't asked a question. If anyone post scripts their text with the dreaded 'TB!' to me; that means don't text back.

Thumbs Up

What about when you arrive somewhere and park up, the only bike for miles. Go away, come back and there's a pack of bikes all parked near yours.

It's a bit like standing at one end of a row of empty urinals and the next guy comes and stands next to you. What is with that?

Blasphemy!

Everyone knows you never do that, well, I never do. I will use the one furthest away, or in the middle, never stand next to someone and if there isnt any option I will gladly wait my turn for one to become free...

Is that weird?.. Confused

If there are only 3 urinals very close together the rule is 'outside ones get used first'. If you come in and there is a tiny space between two blokes elbows you either wait till one finishes and take his place or use the sitty downy cubicle.

Unless of course you're pissed as a fart, then you elbow your way in and as soon as you have got the old chap out and he's emptying himself, you put an arm round each of the blokes and ask where they fancy going on to next.

Why do you have no choice?

I find a slightly baffled "Why are you talking to me?" is a good start, just spoken over whatever it is they're babbling about. If you're not quite so concerned with being nice then a flat stare and "I was perfectly happy without your noise thank you" is almost as inoffensive.

I don't understand the need to maintain the pretence that everyone matters and has a claim on my time.

Normally I'd agree and to some that stoney glare is what I usually do, but some folk you have to tolerate; your boss, people on a higher pay grade, those with political blat...

I disagree fundamentally with the idea of the urinal, that in the 21st century we still think its ok to piss in what is essentially at rough seems backward to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude, I'm all for mixed changing rooms or even mixed toilets in bars with communal sink areas, but pissing in a trough?

I think not, it barbaric!

I'm currently sitting in the canteen at work. As I'm by myself I've stuck myself in the furthest corner possible. I've been here 10 minutes and already attracted 3 other people. It's a massive canteen so there's no shortage of seats.

I was getting a train home after a night out at a friends, we were up drinking till 5 and my train was 11 so as you can imagine I was feeling a bit worse for wear.

I got on the carriage and there were three people in it, so I sat down away from everyone else. A few seconds later a guy comes in the carriage and sits down next to me?? There was 80 seats and he chose to sit by me? I was just surprised, all I managed to say was "really??" he then looked slightly puzzled and went and sat elsewhere..
