Seeing as the subjects been brought up. Anyone know of any bike to bike comm systems that don't cost an arm and a leg (or need a sidecar to carry Rolling Eyes )
Sorry for hijacking your thread!

I have a pair of the midland g7 ones from hein gericke, cost about £80 for one.. have to say, above about 70mph.. they get a bit gobbled up Razz but at anything under that they're alright.

But even £80 is pretty dear.

When i was having lessons, the instructor used a less bulky cheapy looking one, with just an ear piece. If you could fit a 2 way one, with an ear piece that fits close to or in the ear, seems pretty effective at hearing it better. Opposed to having speakers in your helmet

I have a cheap set (can't remember the brand) which were around £20 from my local bike shop.

When I had my SV (with Scorpion can) they weren't even loud enough to be able to hear when the bike was idling.

Now I have a Thundercat with stock exhaust system, they're fine up to around 50mph, depending on how windy it is.

Feels very strange riding without them now, and not being able to easily talk to a pillion. Currently looking to upgrade, and hopefully get something with bike to bike as well.

Have a look at the Autocom range. The company was in administration but i believe they have new owners - if you w ant cheap just buy their older gear on ebay.

Their gear top class. I've done 150mph indicated on the autobahn* and still been able to hear and chat clearly.

*I wouldn't recommend it, due to the stop start nature of the autobahn with road works every so many miles.
