My brother needs to get his two front tyres replaced i have some spare from my own car , that i hope he can use.

His tyres are - 165/65 R13 77T
Mine are - 155/80 R13 79T

Would he be able to use mine?

Thanks

He could, but I'm going to guess at the rolling radius is going to be diffrent. So that could caus issues with speedo reading etc.

Punch the numbers in Here and you can see its quite a diffrence.

Better off to get a new pair in the right size. A quick google brings up prices of sub £50 for a pair fitted Thumbs Up

The profile is quite a bit bigger so they may hit the wheel arch on lock or when the suspension compresses but given the rims are so small to start with it may be ok, i'd just fit them and see. It will make the speedo under read though.

If my sums are right.

Yours have a 124mm sidewall, His tyres have a 108mm sidewall.

32mm difference in diameter? Fairly significant size difference in terms of not rubbing on the car I reckon, depends on the car.

Whats the point? You can get a half decent budget make like Kumho or Falken for £25 a tyre in those sizes.

Unless you have a tyre machine, you are still going to have to pay someone at least £10 a wheel to change the tyres over.

It wouldnt work well mate, my car stock comes with 245/35/18 tyres and is currently running 265 as this is a standard upgrade on my car... but obviously the sidewall hasnt changed, and your difference in sidewall is fairly large.
I would expect rubbing, especially when hitting potholes/speed ramps.

Like others have said, a set fitted is <£50 easy... lucky sod Laughing £195 for tyres... per corner Crying or Very sad

Hi

Are you sure your tyres are 155/80 R13. With tyres that skinny and high profile it would not surprise me if they were cross plies instead.

I suspect the car will handle atrociously with skinny high profile tyres on one end and low profile tyres on the other end.

All the best

Keith
