Hi folks,

For a year or two I've used this cheap, thin silver cover to keep my bike wrapped up when it's stood outside. It's kinda like the outside of a tent but thinner.

The bloody thing isn't remotely waterproof, the seat, screen and tank are soaking wet every time it rains.

I was going to just order any random cover I could find, but I wonder if anybody knows a cover which is actually waterproof?

I guess there's always going to be condensation/rising moisture, but I'm hoping someone can recommend something which will do a reasonable job?

Cheers,
Rich

I have an oxford stormex, quality rain cover not a drop of water made it through so far currently had two massive doses of rain due to thunderstorms and it is fleece lined to protect your paint.

It is expensive mind at about £65.

..Me too.
They will let water in eventually, but with abit of reproofing with a silicone spray or similar it does a good job. The seams are the weak point and they do soak up water at the hem.

At the moment i'm storing a bike under one, so now and again i take it off and let it dry on the line.

Noticed the hem problem already so now I park on my centre stand which raises the majority of the cover off of the ground.

Oxford Rainex - ride recommended and pretty thick and substantial. Fur lined on the inside to prevent damage to paintwork and well made with holes in the wheel areas for locks. Even has a pouch sewn in to keep the lock body of the ground.

I have an Oxford fleece lined one, had it for years and years, decided to get a large one (fits all bikes). It was black once. Now faded, and has nice patches of oil on the insides. I haven't waterproofed it once, and it still does its job.

Definitely worth it's money. Thumbs Up
