My Oxford Bone Dry jacket errr isn't, and it's the same story with my Spada trousers Evil or Very Mad

After my mod 1 in the rain I had wet arms, thighs and arse so I'm going to try some of that waterproofing spray before I look for alternatives...

If you wear jeans under the textiles, i'd wear a pair of Army Goretex over the jeans, under the textiles.

Works for a couple of hours, maybe longer if you get unissued trousers.

I've got Spada Milan-Tex trousers. Cost me £40 and they keep me warm and dry. I'm assuming the jacket will be the same which I might get sometime soon.

You must really be feeling it in your fingers... and in your toes.

I suppose you do live in Wales, therefore it must be all round you... and everywhere that you goes...

..the rain that is.

I got caught in a monsoon last Monday evening and I can vouch that my Bone Dry over-trousers did the job perfectly. My Lewis textile jacket and Puma boots worked fine too. I was actually amazed as it was absolutely chucking it down.

Joe Rocket Ballistic 5's have kept me dry (including the crotch) in a monsoon downpour. So much water that the roads were running rivers.

Ahh. I recommend these over your current kit if you cannot afford new kit:

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/British-Army-Surplus-GORETEX-Trousers-DPM-Camo-34-88-/300464513512?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item45f514a1e8

Or

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Goretex-High-VIS-Over-Trousers-Size-88-96-34-38-/270537399102?pt=UK_BOI_ProtectiveGear_RL&hash=item3efd491b3e

Note they will work for a limited time before letting water through. Usually a few hours.

I recently went green laning in Wales and used my hi-vis goretex waterproofs over the bike kit. Worked wonders.

In my experience nothing is fully waterproof in really bad conditions and the best you can hope for is a mildly moist crotch..

I'm running with a Frank Thomas waterproof over jacket and a pair of Hein Gericke
touring trousers (£149)..

Which all works really well!

All-in-one boilers suits are effective but are an absolute PITA!! especially if you're wet
when you try and put them on!

Good luck!
