So I passed my bike test on the 1/12/08 with three points on my license. And t'other day (october 2010) I passed my car test.

My question is, after tomorrow (i.e when i'll have held my motorbike license for more than two years) if i get three points while driving a car will I get my license revoked under the New Drivers Act?

Bit of a silly question maybe but there are some red light cameras in town which have been scaring the crap out of me! And I'm frankly sick and tired of sticking mercilessly to the speed limit.

Cheers!

Clock starts, as I understand it, when you gain a full licence.
Doesn't matter if that's a car licence, bike licence or one for a tractor... a full licence is a full licence, after that, its simple extra catagories being added to your full licence.
Seem to recal some-one at school who took his tractor test at 16 and caused much consternation to driving instructors and coppers, becouse he already had a 'full' licence....

well duh.

Aye, its a given for yourself or myself.

However given the guy can't figure out how to use the forum search or look in the "new rider" section at the numerous posts in there about this same topic or preferably realise that the most reliable information should come from the DVLA advice line or the DSA website I just thought it needed clearing up. Thumbs Up

Don't be rude. If you wouldn't say it to my face, don't think you can be rude by hiding behind the internet.

Thanks for the replies guys.

As soon as you get your first FULL category, that is when the 6 point rule starts. 2 years after that date, then it goes up to 12 points normal licence.

Take for instance myself, 13/11/08 I got my car licence. Now, the 6 point rule has gone because it was obviously more than two years ago. So now I am on the normal 12 point rule. However, In some months I will get the motorcycle entitlement. You may ask if I get another 6 point restriction but no. That period has ended, and it will never be re-enforced upon me in that regard.

Cool
