Clock starts, as I understand it, when you gain a full licence.
Doesn't matter if that's a car licence, bike licence or one for a tractor... a full licence is a full licence, after that, its simple extra catagories being added to your full licence.
Seem to recal some-one at school who took his tractor test at 16 and caused much consternation to driving instructors and coppers, becouse he already had a 'full' licence.... ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

As soon as you get your first FULL category, that is when the 6 point rule starts. 2 years after that date, then it goes up to 12 points normal licence.
Take for instance myself, 13/11/08 I got my car licence. Now, the 6 point rule has gone because it was obviously more than two years ago. So now I am on the normal 12 point rule. However, In some months I will get the motorcycle entitlement. You may ask if I get another 6 point restriction but no. That period has ended, and it will never be re-enforced upon me in that regard.
