Was out on one of many rides 2 nights ago with 2 friends on their 50cc's and one of them wanted me to see what speed his bike actually did...

Going along a 30mph road, nice long and straight with only one road turning off the road near the end of the road, so we accelerate...

We're doing about 65mph when we go past the road when we see a set of lights pull up to the junction and we both knew immediatly that it was a police car, even though we could only see the lights...

Slammed on the brakes just as I went past and I down-geared got down to 30mph when on came the lights and sirens...

Luckily the copper was nice and "was ending my shift soon so I cant be bothered to write you up for 3 points or a "Section 59"". Thumbs Up

I've already got 6 points from owning a stupid car years ago... would not have been happy if I had got more points... :s

Just goes to prove that not all coppers are nasty. Smile

p.s. If my mate had got anymore up the coppers arse then I swear he would come out his mouth... Laughing

So you managed to get from 30 to 65 in a built up area without having to slow down, on a 50cc, and the copper "couldn't be arsed"?

My dog fell out of the window today, he was fine though, luckily Chuck Norris flew past the window on a 98 R1 and caught him

Because that makes the world of difference.

Most coppers don't seem to have a clue anyway: Young lad in a tracksuit doing 40mph on one is like waving a big banner saying "PULL ME OVER", like the time I saw one carrying a pillion WITH the L plates still on.

Wow some people are speshul!

Unrestricted (which is illegal for 16 year old to ride with CBT) - 50-60mph, which could read 65 on the clocks as most over read a bit.
Anything else that does 60+mph and isn't 50cc will have been bored out with 70cc heads.

Yeah, I went a bit offtopic there, I do apologise!

A 50cc can do 70, (clutch and gear) but when it did that the guy I know blew the piston to pieces. It was quite impressive what he managed to do to it. (He'd changed most things in it, well, everything. It's an old honda thingymajig) Or so he said anyway.

Side note:
The guy's dad runs a riding school and he's not the "ped boi" type.

You missed the: "Or so he said anyway." Bit.

I could neither confirm nor deny it, as I didn't see it, and don't have personal experience of such a piece of machinery.

Probably,

But like I said, it's an old honda clutch and gear thing, (not the twist and go style).

When(if) I actually see him do that speed on it I'll let you know.

Not sure what he did to it but he blew the piston to bits...

Aprillia RS50 - DE Restricted ?

No, old honda.
Cannot think for the life of me what it is. But it's old.

Edit: Similar resemblance to the MB50. Not sure if it is actually that one though.

Whoa!! Didn't want to cause arguements here...!!

I own a CBR 125, that can reach over 60, my friends bike is a RS50 with various bits changed, different sprockets etc.

It was a silly place to test it, but he overtook me and I dont stand for 50's overtaking me, bloody hairdryers...

Anyway, the only reason I posted was just to say that there are some nice coppers out there. Smile
