I commute through the centre of Sheffield every morning, and I was only thinking a fortnight ago that I hadn't had anyone do anything stupid to me for weeks and how good it had been. Then all of a sudden since the kids have gone back I've had people pulling out on me, tailgating, the lot. Has anyone else had this elsewhere, or am I just being overly sensitive?

I was cleaned out by some woman picking her kids up from school when I was 16. She U-turned infront of me with no warning the daft cow.

Yes I think. In London it's more than usual and more traffic too. I'm thinking whether I actually want to commute in winter in the dark or just take the train/bus. Having said that most hear me coming from far and start moving out the way Laughing

Traffic is chocker coming home from work now. I have to filter through two miles of extremely busy dual carriageway. I'm just glad I'm not in a car as it'd take me an age to get home.

My journey is 99% filtering any ways so traffic wise there's not much difference in journey type for me.

That said, school mum runs in cars to big for them rushing to drop kids off and not paying attention are lethal.

I'm in West Sussex on the south coast and since the brats, I mean kids have gone back to school its made my journey to work a nightmare!

Normally It will take me about 20-25 mins through town, out onto the main single carriageway road and then through another town but 40mph roads in the second town.

Now i'm looking doing it in about 45 mins because all the kids are being picked up and traffic is alot worse and I keep having to stop for little johnny who just want's to get run down by me when he runs in the road...

I also commute into the center of Sheffield and have noticed I seem to get tailgated quite a bit. I put this down to being a newby on L plates, (been driving cars 20 years and don't get it as much when i'm in the car).

Could do with an illuminated sign on my back telling the f*ckwits to get off the bloody phone and look where they're going.

I especially despise woodseats!

The end of the school summer holidays always make the rush hour a bit busier.

I've had a few people tailgating, and had a couple of time with people cutting in to my lane etc
(... but thankfully I manage to miss most of the rush hour traffic because of working unsocial hours)

Same here, I've been riding 7 years on a CBT (always miraculously broke around test time) but I still get idiots right up behind me.

Like earlier today, BMW driver on the phone behind me, taxi in front, taxi brakes late and I brake hard, shortly followed by screeching of tyres and me having to swerve/accelerate into the middle of the other lane to avoid getting crushed/ crashed into the back of!!

I heard a good rule for that Ben, kinda works, also makes the guy behind impatient though. If someone is up your bum when in traffic and you already have a 2 secound gap between you and the car in-front, up it to a 3-4 secound gap and effectively add their stopping distance to yours. Means you have more time to slow down and so do they.

this kinda works or when you get to static position just do a burnout and cover their car in rubber and give them a Middle Finger

Lol, My bike already backfires at 6,ooorpm anyway, not sure why, but I've got a rather loud full stainless pipe on there, plus I also have a new tyre on the rear, I guess I need to wear it in somehow. Twisted Evil
