Decided to take my bike out for a nice ride yesterday and took quite a few pics. Just recently fitted braided hoses and an MTC stubby can.

Thinking about getting a GSXR front end and removing pillion seat / footpegs. Any comments / criticisms welcome.

Nice bike, belly pan would look good IMO.

If you want a GSXR front end, get a GSXR Wink

Thanks.

Would probably make more financial sense but I just love the SV too much Razz

I was considering a belly pan actually. Either a belly pan or lower fairings. They seem quite expensive for what they are though.

Good looking bike, lovely example.

That can suits it beautifully.
GSXR front end is a fantastic mod, or TL1000 front end.

Fair enough pal. I've found that the looks of the SV does tend to be a Marmite thing.

Personally, I like the looks of both the SV and the Fazer.

good start. You need

1) Pillion seat cover & remove the grab handle
2) Rear hugger
3) Belly pan. I think a black one would look good on this bike

GSXR front end mod is actually quite a lot of hassle by the time you've sorted out forks, spacers, wheel, mudguard...

Personally I also liked the R6 throttle tube (quicker action, 1/5 turn not 1/4 turn)

Some decent suggestions there, cheers. You reckon the hugger would look best in red to match the bodywork or black to add more contrast towards the rear end? Black bellypan would look nice I think.

How good does that exhaust sound? Heard them on il4s but i can imagine a stubby can on a twin is stupidly loud?

If it is loud, is it a nice loud or offensive?

Your instruments and bars are exactly the same as my GSXR.

How olds your SV?

It is very loud yes. I'd say it sounds very deep and throaty (as most twins do) but it's not overly loud. I'm going to get a baffle for it though just to quieten it down a bit though because I do a lot of early morning starts at work. Don't want to piss the neighbours off too much.

Cheers mate. I'm going to go with a gloss black hugger I think. Cool

It's a 2000 model.

You mean the switches and things on the bars are identical? Or the dials on the dash too?

Just noticed, how did you get a tail tidy (or modify one) only things i have seen for the 2000 SV is to chop the rear up abit (and id rather not do that!)

Other than that, nice bike Thumbs Up

L4Isoside: The rear-end was like that when I bought it. I'm not sure if it's an homemade jobby or something that's been bought for it. Sorry for not being much help.
I will take a photo of the bracket that holds the number plate on though if that would be of any use?

check out below my thing for bikepics link and theres shots of my old sv fully faired. loved it. never had work done to it but once i road it straight after my gsxr and the flaws showed up.
the suspension on them really needs uprating as do the brakes. so go for the gsxr front end and you're laughing.
keep the original parts though and swap back to standard when you come to sell as although it improves the bike it devalues it at the same time.

I built the stone plinth that Kirkthorpe sign is fixed to, along with doing some work on Heath Hall, in around 1985 I think Very Happy

That would help, thanks!

TBH stock is not too bad, not like some of todays bikes ive seen Shocked

I still need to re-fit my lower fairings (resprayed after a spill) and have been looking at rear huggers, but they are about 80 quid on ebay Neutral
