Not legal (except for one particular make which apparently are). And you'll completely fuck them unless it is actually wet enough for them to work.

Doing anything over the speed limit is illegal, but we still do it Wink and i see, i was aware of the dry road would chew them up, is it because they are so soft?

Not only that, the blocks of tread move a lot generating heat which results in even more softness Wink

True, but I'm a bit 'funny' about things that have the potential to render me un-insured and liable for massive amounts of money should I balls it up and take someone else out, and illegal tyres have that potential in spades.

You can do over the speed limit, then slow when you pass a police vehicle.

Much harder to stop using race wets; which are pretty obvious in a lot of cases.

As mentioned, they get absolutely mullered in dry conditions. Talking new to dead in ten laps of hard riding. Longer on the road, but it's not great.
Further, for 'block pattern' wets, they can feel a bit 'lumpy' to ride on, especially as they'll probably wear unevenly.
