To cut a long story short my mate brought a honda cg, from a guy who buys and lightly restores bikes. The bike looked really clean and well looked fter with a full mot. He ended up getting rigged with it breaking down two weeks later, after taking it Dameralls (main honda dealer) in indian queens he was quoted £450 to sort it out, this included a new carb and a new wiring loom as the previous guy completely fucked it up when he restored it. The garage said if you want it sorted take it to a small independant garage as it wouldnt be economical to get it fixed at a main dealer. He did try to ask the guy if he could have a partial refund,(the guy would have known the faults when he sold it) the guy phoned back and said no and then said he wouldnt even have a look at it. I know there is nothing which the guy has to do as it was a private sale but the guys living is selling bikes so the honourable thing to do would be to atleast have a look and offer his services. I said i will try and give him a hand getting his bike on the road, so he needs a new carb, after no response from the seller do you know if this carb will fit an s reg cg.

Many thanks in advance Harry

Yes it would probably fit, but it looks like chinese shite and fuel regulation is likely to be hit and miss.

Yes probably, got one for £20 from a breakers before - just watch out, some CGs had levers on the carb body for the choke, some used a cable and lever on the bars - its relatively easy to bodge between the 2 though.

Well if he's making a living out of this then. Ring him back and explain that under the sale of goods act...... and unfit for purpose. Do a google for full info.
If he still isn't willing to paly ball, and you can prove he is selling more than 1 or 2 a year. Then talk to trading standards. Oh and the tax man.... They are really interested in tax dodging people at the moment, what with the gov needing to balance the books and all that Laughing
