I saw a band at a small rally in Wales earlier this year called Kinky Wizzards (note double 'Z').

Two guys. Bass and drums jazz/rock.

Amazingly skilled technical playing from both of them. They rocked the house.

Nice for musicians who would normally be in the background, to take centre stage.

Always quite liked Dune tune - level 42 (mark king on bass)

Dug my bass out of the loft yesterday for the first time in about a year, really rusty at the moment but I want to be able to play dune tune, I used to be able to do the first bit pretty well. Not so much any more Laughing

Oh well, practice makes perfect!

That's odd, this thread dies down, then I pick up my bass to start playing for a bit, and somebody posts again.

Need to build up the calasys(sp?) on my fingers again, they are killing me!

Ive never been a fan of slap bass, to me the best bassist (ie one that helps define the sound of a band without at the same time overshaddowing the lot) has to be JJ Burnel;

nice n sleazy does it, does it, does it every time

Tetsuo Sakuri,anyone?

Bloke's a total freak.

I play 6 string bass & 4 string fretless bass and I've always considered myself competent.....then along comes this bloke and within 2 minutes of watching his effortless genius I realise I should be playing tambourine!
