Washing textiles?

I have padded textiles (pants and jacket), and leather gloves, all have inners.

Just wondering how you guys wash them? It says wash on 30 but don't tumble dry, is it ok to put the padding in the wash?

My clothes seriously stink! Rolling Eyes

Best thing to do is take all the padding out. It should all be removable. I washed my old pair and they seemed fine. They now do for when I'm taking the eldest out and about on the bike.

I think you're actually supposed to wash them every now and again with waterproof stuff. Or at least I have seen a waterproofing thingy that goes in the machine with the textiles.

If you have goretex make sure you tumble dry them. Do not airdry goretex.

padding out, turn em inside out, low temp...... still havent found a decent way to dry my jacket without it going damp and smelly tho!!! wish i had an airing cupboard!

You can also get textile specific washing products, as well as products like Nikwax to re-waterproof them afterwards.
I've never used the specialised washing products myself, but I have some Nikwax spray at home

that would be at my house Thumbs Up

take all the padding out, wash on a low temperature (with no ordinary washing powder, need to use specialised detergents or just water other wise it may attack the waterproofing) turn spin off. leave out on the line to dry for a couple of days so that it gets well aired and doesn't start smelling like wet dog

Wash jacket and trousers in Tech Wash, re-proof them with Fabsil, gloves I never wash but occasionally re-proof with Glove Proof, you can get the Nikwax products from Hein Gericke or most outdoor/camping shops, the Granger's probably only from an outdoor/camping shop.
