I get my Fireblade. Four hour train journey there, followed by a few hours riding it back home. Should be a day to remember.

No, not much, the insurance covers me until the end of October (standard policy), but today was great - sunny though cool. The bike prices here are much lower now than they will be in the spring, so the Fireblade is really next year's bike (though i will ride it when I can for the next 5 weeks) and the old GSX will be up for sale April/May. I have a reasonable size brick-built shed I keep the bikes in, so should be fine. Once the snow falls, it's all down to the Subaru.

I prefer Karjala, the cans, the region and the 'blade are all red and black.

Thanks, it is a beaut, 2003, 40 000 km on the clock and 5300 Euros, which is a real bargain over here.

Never tried it I don't think. The Karhu labels are red and black too (and gold, but I didn't factor that in Laughing ). Any beer from Finland tastes an improvement over my usual Tennents lager filth over here, but Finns have an acquired tastes for spirits/liqueurs (for example Koskenkorva is foul, and I foolishly paid for salmiakki koskenkorva last time I visited).

Salmiakki kossu is a cruel invention, kossu alone is OK, but as with most Finnish drinking, the aim it to render yourself incapable, not to enjoy yourself! Real men drink kossu straight from the bottle passing it around until empty. Or unconscious.

I love koskenkorva, but it was just a small standard bottle. Not the flavoured liquorice shite.
