Following the recent post about computer chips where a laptop was mis sold to a potato or something equally silly I thought I would throw this at the forum so duck!

I'm sure a lot of people (myself included) would be willing to try them just to see what they're like.

I've seen something similar on a Jamie Oliver tv prog, but never saw them cooked or even cut open

I cant wait until the shops have them. Hopefully the local sainsburys will soon. I want to try them. Cant wait to see the kids reaction when we serve them purple mash!

Get my mum to buy them when she cooks chips with them. Would be pretty cool.

Like all those years ago when you used to get coloured tomato sauce. You could get blue, green and purple tomato sauce. Wish I had it now Laughing

I can imagine they taste about the same as a normal potato.

My dad used to grow blue potatoes and i think they tasted the same.
He used to say they was special potatoes and that the queen eats them.
Never really knew if he said that so that i would think it was cool and eat them. Or if it was actually true lol.

Does look funny on the plate though when you're expecting white ones.

I find what they have in purpleness they lack in texture and flavor.
To me the ultimate potato is the Pink Fur Apple.
