Well I did my CBT with the guys from Bike-It in Paisley today. It's quite a long day., but I am glad to say I passed.

I still need practice with somethings and to build my confidence on the road, I slow down too early at junctions and things like that. Just being overly cautious I think.

But yeah, it was good and I'm glad I did it and I can't wait to get the CG up and running and back on the road.

well done. Only way to practice is get out on the bike and put as many miles in as you can.

Have faith in the bike and the braking abilities and you'll be fine. Thumbs Up

I remember being horrified at how bad I was despite having done my CBT. Another half day out on a bike and you'll be much more confident. 5 years and you'll actually be good at it Wink

Well done on passing your CBT. I agree with the comments about not being fully confident after completing the CBT coures and another half a day would have done wonders for you.

I believe the CBT does not go far enough to give new riders the confidence they need to be safe on the road and it should be a minimum of a 12 hour course (over 2 days). The extra training and experience will make riding safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

When I teach a CBT coures it starts at 9am and finishes at 6pm, so it is a long day but it is far from basic. I believe in giving new riders the best start in their new career. Personally I think it should be a longer course. After all, two days out of your life to learn skills that will last you a lifetime is not a lot - is it.

Until things change, after your CBT, take it slowly and start out on the road at quiter times until you feel confident and are comfortable with your bike.

My CBT was excellent. Started at 9am Long detailed chat then on the bikes in the yard for a couple of hours.

The afternoon session was about 2.5 hours. We stopped after about an hour to have a little chat and so that we could ask questions if we had any, make sure we were happy etc. Also checked we were warm enough as it was 'commin down like bloody stair rods'

Instructor was excellent with good feedback and positive instruction.

Going back to them for DAS in a few weeks.
