Does anyone have any ideas please?

After finding out that my damaged piston rings have scored the barrel I ordered a new one, new piston set and full gasket set.... only to discover that the Honda garage had got my bike totally mixed up with a new NSR and ordered the wrong parts. (I didnt have a chance to check the box until I had driven 60miles home) So I took the parts back and they then went on to tell me Honda do not make my barrel anymore. Other option was to go through the rigmarole of sending the barrel down south and getting a cast liner fitted but I really wanted to keep it all original and just replace the parts so here comes the hard part...

Does anyone know where I can aquire a new/used barrel? I have tried dave silva spares with no joy. Have tried all the Honda dealships in scotland with no joy and really want my bike fixed. The job will only take me an hour and a half and its so frustrating knowing this Sad

If anyone has any suggestions or knows anyone selling a barrel please get in touch!

Personally I would go for a replate.

However I think your only other option is to source a top end (or complete engine, or even complete crashed bike) from Ebay or the like. They do turn up fairly regularly.

get it re-plated for around £100, then its like a new cylinder.
whilst there, get it "tuned" a little, lol. good for 15% increase in bhp.
