Why dont you expect a quick sale?
If the bikes in reasonable shape, presented as tidily as you can present it, and advertised with a good description and a sensible price tag, should sell quite readily......
Getting 12moths test on a bike before you sell, (even if its got test remaining) adds a LOT of saleability, as does the £15 to stretch the tax out to the full 12months.
Putting a little effort and a couple of quid into making the bike as marketeable as you can is a LOT better than dropping the asking price.
And, OK, its not THE best time of year to sell, but, should still sell. Lots of people buy 125's as SOON as they are old enough, so its down to birthdays, and there are a lot between September & December, OR they buy when they have the 'need', and Sixth-form college & Uni starting this time of year, give a blip in the buying public (aided by the arrival of the Student Loan Cheque, or promices to pay back parents after the EMA money starts arriving)
How fast do you EXPECT it to sell, is the other question? If you put your adds in the right places, you should be able to sell a good bike, for a good price within a couple of weeks, tops.
Thats the starting place. If 'fast' to you means 'immediete', as in get the money off some-one tomorrow, and be getting a new bike by Friday..... your probably a little ambitiouse!
PERSONALLY, I'd possibly be inclined to hang onto the Veradaro for a while longer, maybe until the T&T are due. Get some value out of it running it through the winter, rather than trying to get to grips with a 'big-bike' in teh worst weather, & then selling on in teh spring, when the market's more bouyant, & you have had time to save up a few more pennies. (From saved fuel, if nothing else!)
Would also give you more time to watch the market, see whats coming up, and spot the odd post christmas Bargain, or early season steal, & transport to go view such machines.
Maybe you can save the cash to buy outright before selling on the Veradaro, or get some-one to advance you the difference, then you can have the 'new' bike waiting sale of the 125, proceeds from which repay loan, if any, and the new insurance premium.....
Key here, I think is NOT to rush.
There will be a lot more choice in whats on offer in the early spring, and plenty of bargains to be had through the winter.
JUST becouse you have a full licence DOESN'T mean you HAVE to have a 'big-bike'..... just means you are now a qualified rider......
Congratulations on that BTW...... relax, and enjoy.... dont rush, THAT is a sure way to grief on bikes!
