Hi im just wondering if it is actually possible to derestrict a swiss NSR? i have heard it is heavily restriced and very hard to derestrict.

i have been studying motor vehicle mechanics at college for 2 years so have a good understanding of engines.

just want to know if it is at all possible to de restrict fully, and what work this would take. if not then to de restrict it as far as possible to get the best performance out of it? all help is appreciated.

P.S if anyone has a swiss nsr, whats the best performance you can gget out of it?

under the seat at the back is an orange wire that loops back into the CDI, remove this.

then under the tank, look for this wire, pull this out (pic courtesy of alains)

and thats pretty much it. some will say to get a dif CDI but it ran as if derestricted on mine

just to get this straight, i simply pull the wires out and leave them disconnected?

pretty much yeah, made my swiss one from not even being able to get enough revs to hit the powerband give off quite impressive performance (for a 125)... it did however have a race exhaust on it. but as far as im aware from chatting to alains the restriction is completely electronic.
