Looking at buying new chain and sprockets for my Derbi Senda. I have another post on this but need an answer on this particular chain/sprocket kit asap as I can buy it tonight and they can post tomorrow as I need it for the weekend :/

The item in question: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Derbi-Senda-Extreme-R-50-STD-Chain-Sprocket-Kit-/350204216394?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5189cc444a

So would you buy it? It says not a grey import and it leads me to think they are double bluffing. I know it says DID but hmm.

What do you guys think?

Thanks Mr. Green

looks fine. as per the the other thread, its a 50cc. whatever you put on will be fine.

however it is a rivet link and not a split link chain, so you will need a chain riverter or whatever to seal the chain properly.

Question

WTF do you mean, that they are outright lieing then.....

Could be a counterfiet DID, but given you are riding a 50cc. It aint going to make any diffrence.

Get to a local bearing factor and pick a chain up.

Think I'll do that then. I take it a rivet is just as good/strong as a split link then? I can get hold of a chain splitter so no problem there.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Thumbs Up

As many have said, start worrying about chains when you have a bike that puts out more torque than you can make yourself. Wink.

the "not grey import" has nothing to do with whether or not the chain is real or not.

They are talking about what bike it is for. A grey import would be a bike that was not sold from a dealer in the uk and was imported here instead. EG. If your bike originally came from USA and was bought and shipped over to the UK then it's possible that it would need different sprockets due to differences in models sold in different regions.

I'm surprised no one else has made this clear in this thread yet.
