Booking Mod 1 and Mod 2 training and tests

Basically, I have my theory a week this wednesday, reckon I'll pass it 'cause i'm doing quite well on these simulated test things on a PC CD i've bought from Smiths which is from the DSA themselves.

I'm planning on booking my training and tests with One2One which are based around Stoke-On-Trent and Crewe, I did my CBT with them and they were pretty sound apart from one instructor who I've seen has quite a reputation of being a knobhead, he's quite fat in the face, black hair, bit of stubble going on and rides a black, 2010 Kawasaki, can't remember which model but I think it might be a Versys.

I'm planning on doing their 5-day complete novice course which is something like £540.

Before I bore you all to death and write an entire diary entry about how my day's been, what I want to know is, is the 5-day course any good, and is there anything in particular I need to look out for and practice doing?

If anyone has done a course with them for their Mod 1 and/or Mod 2, please let me know if they're any good or whether i should book it with somebody else.

did about 4 hours training for mod 2 with them,the guy on the blue sv650 is pretty good,got failed at newcastle by some fat arrogant cunt for varies of made up reasons.

tbh you shouldn't need any training for mod1,i didn't do any and passed second time round.

mod 2 training would be good to get you up and good on your lifesavers.

try and ask for the guy on the sv,i had the 'owner' for some more training and he was just shit,rode about 4 miles up the road with his fucking indicator on

yeah, i had the guy with the blue sv on the car-park, he was dead friendly and helpful, i think when i come to do it, i'm going to request that i don't have the guy on the '10 plate kawasaki.

isn't Mod 1 just based on different road maneuvers like the swerve and stop, which i've also heard is really difficult to get the hang of...

mod 1's a piece of piss

reason i failed was for not doing a lifesaver on the u turn which i swear i did and skidding on the swerve and not getting the front wheel in the box (dam dual drum brakes)

the swerve its self is like pretty much like going round a grid on the road,hardly a swerve at all.

just get used to controlling the clutch and watch some of the videos on you tube,you could fail like 7 times before it came to the same price as taking training

If you haven't done any training and no experience I suggest you go for training.

But mod 1 is easy, especially on a bigger bike. Done my last thursday on a er6-n, which is very easy to control at slow and fast speed.

I done 60kph on my emergency stop and 58kph on the serve and it felt fine

I would recommend Bryans - they are based on the Britannia stadium.

I have just passed Mod 1 with no minors after using Bryans. I did a three day course with them, which I thought was great.

From never riding a bike, I did the GetOn and CBT in July, then started the intensive course which was half a day on a 125, then straight to a 500/600 for the rest of the time.

This involved Mod 1 and Mod 2 training, so practicing the manouvers required and road riding.

Think that was £580, so slightly more than your quote but very worthwhile.
