I've got a Diversion XJ900 that I use for commuting to work every day, it starts and runs fine and always has these past few months I've had it.

Recently though I've suddenly started stalling it at one specific set of traffic lights on a downhill dual carriageway stretch. This morning was the 3rd time in the past week!! Embarassed
I filter to the front of the queue when the lights are on red and when I went to set off the bike just stalled. Maybe I'm just not giving it enough rev's but surely an engine of that size is capable of pulling away downhill without any rev's theoretically!?

On my commute I have to deal with uphill stops, tight slow turns, downhill roundabouts, etc, etc - and have never stalled on these -just this one junction! Shocked I don't get it... Question

Perhaps a fuel supply issue?

Don't dump the clutch, let the clutch out slower and make sure you have enough revs or have high enough revs and dump the clutch. Thumbs Up

Hmm, it's definitely something I'm just not getting quite right... I'll keep trying! More rev's and dumping the clutch sounds like a good plan Laughing

Book a few lessons with a training centre before your test.
You need to learn how to use 'Slow Control' and 'Hill Starts' that's all.... Razz

Eh!? Confused Do I need to take a test before riding the XJ900 then? I thought this was one of the few bikes that still doesn't require a licence... Question

Yeah mate, so long as you wear your Hi-Viz-Vezt. and have your Green 'New Rider' Plate displayed you should be fine.
