So this year i have decided to go a wee bit over the top... since every other year i never really have the time/energy to do anything.

Supposed to be going into edinburgh for a night out, going to one of the clubs which will obviously be doing a halloween night.

So i've been looking at different costume ideas.... giant banana (peanut butter jelly time style), giant hotdog, bananaman (which was funny as hell Laughing ), a pirate, a ninja maybe, then the V for vendetta stuff.

Thought the V stuff would be quite fitting as there are a couple anons* going too Thumbs Up

^ That is the stuff i'd have to buy... expensive but it'd do every year and i'm hardly going to get any bigger so it'll be a good investment methinks.

So, people of BCF... let me know what you think.

Oh, i am slightly worried about the daggers in the middle of edinburgh... no doubt a drunk will steal one and try to stab me with it.

If you want to celebrate Halloween go to America and do it rather than annoy people over here.

talk about being old and grumpy :p

Wink

i won't be annoying anyone really, away up town to a club full of people doing pretty much the same in a futile attempt to get my willy wet.

Probably spend all my money and wake up half dead in the gutter, but that's what being 18 is all about these days apparently Thumbs Up

Agreed.

I find people in the U.K., 'celebrating' halloween, just as pathetic as yoofs over here, acting out their L.A. gang-banger fantasies.

I, as most I am sure, dress up at Halloween because we love any excuse to go to fancy dress parties. If Christmas or Easter played host to fancy dress parties then I'd dress up then too.

Dressing up is to cheerful there-for, I don't approve.

Its just an excuse these days for feral children to extort money from their neighbours.

Adults dressing up? I think not.

i'm not an adult, so i'm exempt from that mr broon.

Fancy dress is awesome. though the way things are going, i may end up going as a rave biker.

i.e. leathers covered in the shit from glow sticks.

Strange people think like that Halloween was around way before America was discovered, it was a celebration of the autumn harvest and the Celtic new year and a lot of the traditions started in Ireland....

I think most of us are well aware of that, and it died out a natural death.
It's revival in the UK, has nothing to do with tradition, and everything to do with people allowing themselves to be influenced by American films.

I never went trick or treating when I was a boy although conversely, it was probably safer to do so back then...

These days you find yourself with some spotty 14yo with a binbag over his head just asking for cash, the four or five other adolescents lurking in the back ground only serve to persuade the more easily intimidated that it might be easier to just comply.

Fair enough I suppose if its the neighbours four year old.

Dunk, you are an adult being as you are 18 years of age, you need to embrace adulthood, no good can come of clinging to the last vestiges of youth. Face it, its all down hill from where you are now, its just shit piled on top of more shit, putting a silly costume on isn't going to save you from it, nothing can...

Thought in scotland you were classed as an adult at 16?

Oh and the whole dressing up for halloween thing, leave it for the little kids imo.
