Anyone else hate the feeling of being soaked and cold? Especially when you just get to work Sad

I prefer it to being hot and sweaty... What I don't like is having to lock/unlock the bike up when it's pissing down and you just want to get going ASAP.

Rain oversuit FTW. 30 miles commuting yesterday in some of the worst rain I've ridden in, and bone dry when I got home. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Yeah I am thinking of getting an oversuit.

The Alpinestars El nino seems good, but I would prefer to have something over my leathers which would save money.

Yeah I hate my visor when it rains because I can't see as well, and doing 40+ can hurt my face if it is lifted. I already have a pin lock but the drops still get in the way

The white lines and diesel spills are also annoying

Likewise. Bone dry from my 15 miles commute home. Only issue is, my boots have a severe leakage problem now (there are holes in the bottom of them). Even Co-op's finest bags can't keep the water at bay Laughing

I want to get the Akito desert suit at some point, I got a Spada one that fits badly on me (I am an odd shape).

I wouldn't be to bothered about the rain but 99% of my 15 mile commute is filtering up the A40 and A406. White lines suck donkey willy.

This!

By the time you fiddle with the locks and chains your hands and hair are soaked and then you have to put your gloves on! I have tried doing this with the gloves already on but its so fiddly it takes longer!

Why not put your helmet on before you walk outside? If it's raining, my helmet goes on in the office reception, it doesn't stop me unlocking my bike.

6 hours riding in the heavy rain today, soaked, got to the point where you had to laugh and sing in the helmet...

Thats the one!

On leaving work I had my lid on before leaving the building and chances are today I'll leave home for work with the lid on. doesnt solve the wet hands into dry gloves problem.

Ahh the pleasure of riding in the wet!

only 3 things i don't like about the rain...

    1) My glasses don't have wipers so daren't open the visor.
    2) Getting off with soggy jeans.
    3) Going into a shop and coming out to a wet seat.

Looking forward to a nice 150 mile trek in the pissing rain today, on a bike barely scrubbed in, with untested luggage and a lightly researched route.

1) Pinlock
2) Waterproof clothes
3) Waterproof clothes

I quite like rain riding, I always feel smoother and quicker in the dry after I've had a long stretch of riding in bad weather... Visibility can sometimes make it all a little scary sometimes though.

Rain doesn't bother me. Don't see what the fuss is about.

Ice, snow - for sure, that's a different matter. But rain is just water dripping, ain't gonna melt flesh from bones. Worst case scenario: you get wet! What? You aint ever had a bath? Hardly the furies of hell.

I think we are far too coseted in this country: anything more extreme than archair comfort and we're worrying. I know ppl who use umbrellas to walk 10 metres to their cars (sadly not exclsively women, which might be forgiven).
