Reckon I'll go along to this:
https://www.endurofest.co.uk/

They always have a good track setup for the Enduro fest - and believe they've got two tracks to swap between this time.
Usual stuff applies - I'd recommend it to anyone who has a bit of 'laning experience - it's like a trackday for off-roading, but you get an open pit lane and a lot more variety.

Oh no.

Already put my name forward for the "highways and Byways" tour, though been told that currently there is not enough interest.

Not so sure about going on the "track" last time I got the air ambulance out Confused Got my own bike this time though so kinda tempted.

In two minds if I want to go to this.

Got XT600 tenere. Had it for about a month.
Done some greenlaneing on my own, can do most stuff round here slowly -1st or 2nd gear (though sand is tricky - maybe less air).

Is it worth taking the bike along to this?
Last time I felt a bit like a moving target (then a passenger on a tree targeting missile). Im just looking to get some experience and mud under my wheels.

The tour seemed the best option, but it looks like a no-go Sad

Someone Sell it to me Cool

Here's a couple of vids of the track:
From the side
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFBG-s-f4TU&fmt=34
A lap:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeAY_dDjspQ&fmt=35

I suspect you had some extra-nutter people that were trying to properly 'test' the BMW.
There do tend to be some pretty fast people there (a lot less at 'endurokent' where I was on Sunday), but generally not been a problem riding slowly.
Generally you can 'opt out' of the nastier bits, but it is fairly nicely varied track so there is some steep bits from what I remember - don't actually take much skill, but do a bit of bottle to see that it isn't scary the first time Smile.

If you want to take my 200 out for a play, you're welcome to. Will take my trials bike too, though probably best to avoid that for a lap, for the moment (though might actually be 'easier' on some of steep bits etc).

I hadn't actually watched it, I admit.
I haven't done that adstone track for a while (in fact since the day of the 'incident' described above) and that's a recent video, so it may not be too bad.

So, you coming to play Gaz? Smile

Cheers G, but I think I'll stick to my own bike (even though its a bit heavier) After "slightly" bending Mr. BMW's 3 week old G450 I perfer to stick to bikes I own Very Happy .
I know what im doing with Tenere as ive been plodding round on the road for a bit to get used to it.

I suppose Im worried about being given the space to get used to rideing offroad, and then trying out some of the trickier bits.

I suppose one of my memorys from last time was a bloke on a KTM, flying past me, going into a power-slide round the bend before disapping into the distance. Great to watch, but a bit intimidating shareing the track.

Maybe I should grow some, leave the hi-vis on and give it a go.

As with any 'open pit lane' motor event, there is going to be a wide range of abilities.
I've been at both ends of the spectrum and often in the middle where you then get both ends at once Smile.

You just need to be comfortable with the fact that the people coming flying past you know what they're doing and don't want to crash either!

Good fun, though unfortunately the number of laps done by me were rather restricted by a puncture in my van tyre (no spare wheel) - many thanks to 'daFailedStuntman' for taking it on a last-minute dash to the nearest ATS, then suffering riding behind a C90 returning to the event.

As usual, the tracks had a nice selection of easy and hard bits.
All the slightly tricky bits had 'easy' routes avoiding them; daFailedStuntman did very well considering his bike - only missing out one climb, understandable on a big heavy bike with road tyres.

I did the 'bosshogs beat the clock' - a single timed run over a set of man made obstacles - logs, tyres, rock pit etc. Good fun, though stalling several times and not actually being fast means I suspect I didn't win (and I missed out a really easy section because I was confused where it went.)

Brilliant fun - so glad I went after all my trepidation.

Thanks to 'g' for meeting up and doing a few slow laps to build my confidence.

Still can't believe how much I actually managed to ride even though my bike was not ideal and how much more confidence I had by the end. Everyone was really friendly and the track was wide enough to let the fast people though in most places.

Even got recognised as "the guy who crashed at the first one".

Im coming back next year Smile

Umm... Yep that was me...

Got round both tracks using the easy options (though bailed on one steep hill - only to watch G fly up it on the C90)

What tenere did you get? Mines the last of the air cooled 600 singles.

Mines a 1988 model (3AJ). Its slightly on the scruffy side but mechanically sound. Its like riding a LandRover defender - almost agricultural, feels unstoppable, not very fast. Lots of fun Smile

Not on xt660.com yet. will have a look Smile

I'm doing the Hafren on 10th, but you'll have to get yourself there Smile.
Haven't got specific plans after that. Could be tempted by the Enduro land in Wales at the end of the month if I'm not doing anything else.

Could also be tempted to do a mid-week day at four marks some time, depending on what else I'm doing.

Thumbs Up, was going to moan about the photographer not catching the dynamic might of the c90, but I do see a little teeny bit of roost Razz.

A couple from the timed challenge thingy, nothing too exciting:
