hi all as title says im after some heated grips for my fzs600 for this winter, just to attempt to keep the nip away on the commute.

need to keep it cheap, they dont have to have brilliant heat settings its only a 4-5 mile journey. just on or off numbers will do. looking for grips that arent big fat things, my mate has some on his that are girthy as tupence ha'penny prossys calf.

anyone bought any recently on in the past? max budget probably 40-50 cheaper the better

cheers Thumbs Up

For just over £40 you can get symtec ones that go under your normal grips. Work very well.

For under £5 you can a similar rather less sophisticated set made in China. I orded a set, but haven't fittem to anything yet.

I have Oxford Hot Grips. About £55 new on eBay. They're fine for me and get rather hot on full setting. Usually have it on 50 / 75%

how easy are those under grip heaters to fit G? ive seen those and they look good, only thing bothering me is fitting the buggers, grips are a tight fit as it is.

the oxford ones sound pretty good might look into those further. cheers Thumbs Up

I didn't find them a problem to fit.
They're about the only ones that don't noticably increase the width of the grips you use.

I did a how-to on the symtec ones. They are very good, my girlfriend has not had a Reynauds attack (where her the circulation to her fingers cuts off) on the bike since they were fitted.

I've not got any yet but these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dr-Bike-Motorcycle-Adjustable-Temperature/dp/B0034BHC44/ were recommended to me on another thread the other day.

Cheers

I've a pair of tose symtec a likes installed. Seem to be pretty effective. the 3/4 times I've used them since they went on. Get hot enough I needed to turtn them off after about 10 minutes, need to wire a low mode to them (in series rather than parallel)

For my symtecs(they are dual power to start with) I was considering wiring up a 555/relay kit from maplins - you can then set it to do say 1 second on 3 seconds off, or 3 seconds on 1 second off to vary the heat.

Any decent set of gloves should be Ok for that distance......
Or a set of silk liners if your normal gloves are big enough to take them without being too tight.

i hear what your saying about the gloves. i figured good gloves cost about the same but i think heated grips will make the bike slightly, and i mean only slightly, more saleable when the time comes as well as keeping my hands warm on the longer journeys. where did you find the hein gericke ones for £20?

Mate just put a pair on, throttle gets warmer than the left and quicker plus it drains his battery haha, reason for laughing is he was bragging his hands were gonna be warm and I'd freeze but when he went to ride home 2am freezing cold his bike wouldnt start haha
