Anyone done the new "following directions" bit of

Apparently as of the 4th of this month, there is a 10 minute part of the test where they give you a destination and you have to find your own way there, The examiner just follows you.

I believe the same applies to the car test. My daughter passed her test yesterday (in Bristol) and didn't mention this being a problem, though she was nervous about this part of the test beforehand. I'll ask her more details if i get the chance.

Didn't realise they were doing this for the bike test too.

I take it you fail the test if you get lost/go to the wrong destination?

They showed some of this on the breakfast news yesterday...
They claimed that missing a turn or arriving at the wrong destination isn't neccessarily a fail, as long as your driving is safe.
In fact the presenter who was doing her piece to camera took a wrong turn and ended up in a Tesco car park Embarassed

Altho I didn't know they were doing it for bike tests too

Every time I start driving lessons something changes, first time it happened was with the theory test coming in and now this. I swear I'm jinxed.

Did it this morning, and TBH it's not really anything different than on an old test. Examiner split it in to two parts, first was follow signs for atherton/leigh, and then he pulled me over and explained the next part (straight over first roundabout, left at lights, straight over second round about). As long as you do everything safely, it doesn't matter if you take a wrong turn.
