Is this uncommon?

I Went out in my car with a few friends who were all riding bikes yesterday (booking bike test on monday ). One on my friends who was riding a r6 which has been restricted got pulled over and was told they only pulled him to see his certificate or restriction. Personally i think this is unfair and he is being rather penalised for riding a resricted bike. Is it common to be tugged when riding a restricted bike or was this just a one off? Thanks guys just wondering thats all, sorry for the two incorrect spelling.

Anyway, yes very rare. But I dare say that riding an r6 didn't help, possibly too if he 'looked young' or was acting so.

Generally, And im not saying you werent driving / riding responsibly, the police dont pull for no reason whatsoever.

The reason may be riding like an idiot, or simply they've taken a dislike to yamaha's of late, but there will be an underlying reason (you might not like or agree with what it is). It may be heyve had a high accident rate and realised a lot of bikes are unrestricted in your area recently. I know the portsdown hill area is a faveourite hang out for boy racer types also.

In this case, several bikes being tailed around by a car mar have aroused their suspicion, and by pulling one they effectively force the whole group to a stop.

I know how i tend to behave in a group, and its not always what would be consdred highway code standard riding /driving.

You tend to see lots of posts about being unfairly pulled on bike and car forums, not so many saying "i was pulled and i deserved it" suprisingly....

Not that im implying you / your group were behaving badly of course.

Just goes to show what the police are like around here! I live just below Portsdown Hill in a really chavvy estate. The chavs upstairs can smoke grass in the hallway, argue and fight all night and ride around the estate in a stolen car crashing into things around here and the police tell us they dont have the resources to come out at 3am to put and end to it so the family and I can get to sleep.

But noddy can stop a guy on a bike for doing nothing on a ride out with friends.

Pathetic.

yeah i also think police in this area could use there time more wisely. You live in Portsmouth too . Fancy going for a ride when i pass my test, showing me some decent road ? Thanks for the replys

never been pulled on my bike, car loads of time when i was younger. just random checks etc. got about 12 producers on my scooter when i was 16, didnt help that we went round in packs like early incarnations of chavs.

Hi

Lived around Portsmouth a bit over 20 years ago. The police were forever pulling bikes up for "just a routine check" (or worse, often indulging in a bit of dangerous driving to try and get the rider to speed). Seemed to be a Hants thing as moving to Notts is stopped.

Hi

They were fairly easy to spot. If a car was tailgating and had badly adjusted over bright headlights then it was a police car or occasionally a taxi. But it was pretty common, and as speeding is an absolute offense being bullied into it wouldn't be a defense.

well he dosent carry his cer with him so he has been giving a productor for it. Yeah his bike is in the fiat colours and on a 07 plate.
