Today I had nothing to do so I went to honda dealer, and there was the VT750S.
It was really aa... honda sportstar.

hi guys,
i think that Honda always surprised peoples to launch new bikes and cars and this time they proved it by launch Honda new V twin 750cc VT750S. this bike is fabulous.

Looking at it it has a rear drum break, bit of a blast from the past on a large bike.
It migt be a copy but I think it looks more tidy than the originals.
Just hope it soounds lik a bike not reduced to a whisper.

I don't like customs, generally, but this I like to a degree. I walk past one in the showroom every morning on my way into work and every time grows on me more. I am half tempted to ask the sales guys for a ride but it's hard finding the time these days and they probably know there's no way I could afford one. The tragedy of working in a big Honda dealers when you have to keep a family, none of the machinery is within your reach. If those lottery numbers come up though I would be tempted.

That is a very low power output , I believe my old vt500 produced more power than that.

The max power is less important than the torque at lower revs on this sort of bike.
The riding experience is more about chugging along in a satisfying way around the legal limit than trying to do lightning overtakes.

I would consider this bike if it had shaft drive.

Oh dear, what a disappointment. It looks pretty good, I admit, but the spec is shameful in this day and age. It should at the very least have disk brakes all round and a 750 putting out 41 hp is a disgrace of which only HD would be proud. It's obviously built out of cheap components from other bikes in the range and marketed solely on looks to those who don't know or care to know what else is available in this sector. How you could walk past something like a Moto Guzzi Griso to buy this Honda I don't know - and the Guzzi is hardly cutting edge. What a wasted opportunity. All it needs is a torquey 80bhp engine (which is what 750s were making 25 years ago), decent modern suspension and brakes - and with those looks you'd have a queue of all types of bikers wanting a ride. But with this spec, even a burgman scooter makes much more sense.

I just read a short review of it in Bike magazine, which sums up what's been said above by some. Too heavy, underpowered (yet just too much to be a 33bhp-learner option) and irrelevant; totally out-performed by its logical competitors. What a waste of time, yet still nearly 6k!

If I was a Honda marketing person I'd despair if I was handed the job of shifting a dog like this. Looks like another Honda own goal (along with the new VFR, and allowing BMW to trump them in the superstock stakes).

Powering the new VT750S is a liquid-cooled, V-twin of 745cc. The motor boasts Honda’s latest PGM-FI fuel-injection system to help fuel economy and lower emissions, but in keeping with the classic styling, the V-twin features finned barrels for that ‘air-cooled’ look. Honda say the engine is designed to give optimum performance in the low to mid-section of the rev-range.
