If you need to run a program as admin just right-click on it's .exe and select "Run as Administrator".

The reason you're not admin by default is to protect you from dodgy stuff.

And if you ever need to open a command prompt with admin rights the method I use is tap Windows key to open the Start menu, type cmd, then hold Ctrl, Shift and tap enter. If you've done it right you should get UAC pop up to ask your permission to run.

Obviously you can just do Windows Key + R and type cmd to open a prompt, but it will be with limited rights.

Alternatively go into All Programs/Accessories and right-click Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator". Laughing

And to protect you from yourself.

Well, yeah, that too, but I guess I'm just a keyboard shortcut kinda guy. Mouse clicking is sooo last decade. Wink
