Use a soft toothbrush (10p for two from tesco) to scrubt he stuff in, then I assume you rinse it off and leave it to dry.
In future, get a squirty bottle, a rag, a soft toothbrush and a bottle of Paraffin, will do the job perfectly and on the cheap.
Paraffin is about £5 for 4L, get it from B+Q (lamp fuel) or Homebase (Parasene). Lube it up afterwards and jobs a good un . |

Paraffin is a great de-greaser for steel parts like sprockets etc. Just be thorough when you dry it up afterwards, kitchen towel works well. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

Yes I use muc-off cleaner regularly. Usually just spray it on, then "agitate" it if needed with a cheapo supermarket toothbrush.. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

ATF fluid seems to clean the chain aswell as lubricate it.
Its cheap aswell.
For other mechanical bits i use parrafin to clean. ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600
