Occupation and Generation Kill?

Occupation imo was a fantastic mini-series based around a few men of the british army and the antics they get up to when serving and afterwards, very good acting, good story line and not much that I can point out that I didn't enjoy!

Just finished watching the series of Generation Kill, very good. Told from the view of a troop of soldiers in the US Marines who are heading into Bhagdad as part of the invasion of Iraq. Again, very good acting, good cinematography and not much that I didn't like.

I wondered if anyone else knew of similar series that I could watch?

Well band of brothers but I'm guessing that you've all ready seen it.

Ross Kemp in Afghanistan was a good watch, not the same exactly I know, but pretty good none the less if you're into your military stuff.

may I also recommend Sniper One by Sgt Dan Mills - It's a book, but a very good read.

Haven't seen Occupation myself, so I'll be looking that one up.

It has James Nesbitt in it, he's a good actor and underestimated by many I think. Well worth the watch!

Yup, I've seen both Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, and Band of Brothers, both were very good, but watching some of the bits of RKiA, I felt like if it was me, I would have asked for a gun to shoot back at the fuckers. Even though I'm not a military personell, I'd want something to protect myself.

Defiantly. I think Kemp gets a lot of stick for his hard-man image, but he was right in the thick of it at times, and as you say if it was me, I'd have asked the camera guy to stop rolling and asked for a weapon lol.

That series combined with his appearance in "Extras" made me like him a lot more. lol It is even the reason why my airsoft team have their name -

Yus. It's very good.

Being out of work at the moment has its downside that I've managed to watch pretty much everything that interests me that I can find. I have 2 job interviews this week though so hopefully I'll have less time to watch these things.
